December 17, 2013 -- Nuremburg with K, S, Meg, Lena and Beate!

December 17, 2013 -- Nuremburg Christmas Market

We headed to Nuremburg around 11:15 am.  After going to the wrong NH Hotel first, but met Beate and Lena at the correct NH Hotel about 15 minutes later.  After checking in, we took the train to Nuremburg so we could explore the Christmas Market.  Although it is one of the most popular Christmas Markets in Germany, we were surprised that it was not that crowded and certainly less commercial then we anticipated.  Although it was a bit chilly we shopped for several hours before having a traditional dinner of goose, red cabbage and potato dumplings.

December 16, 2013 -- Wiesbaden Christmas Market

Me, Megan, Sarah and Katie headed to the Wiesbaden Christmas Market.  This is one of my favorite markets.  The first picture is of Katie, Sarah and Meg having a little soup before exploring the market.

December 15, 2013 -- A pretty little town in Germany

December 15, 2013

We ventured out early this morning for a trip to Cochem.  I had booked the train tickets weeks ago.  We met James at the Frankfurt Train Station around 8:15 am.  We had plenty of time to spare with the train leaving at 8:42.  We don't know how we did it but we never made the train.  So, we piled in the car and drove to Cochem instead.  Cochem is a beautiful little town in the Mösel Valley.  We hiked up to the castle and then took a tour.  K, Megan and James had some bratwurst and I had a kartoffelpuffer.  Sarah the healthy eater insisted on a salad.  It  was a small Christmas Market, but we will be heading to Nuremburg and Rothenburg, so seeing big markets will not be a problem.    We had a great day and headed home around 3 pm.
