July 11, 2013 --The Quadruplets Second Day in Paris

July, 11, 2013 -- Day 2

I forced the issue and we all got up early today to get to the Lourve before it got very crowded.  We were very successful.  With no line, we entered the Lourve at 9:15 am and finished our visit around noon.  Unlike Sarah's first experience there, you could walk right up to the Mona Lisa without being pushed and shoved.

After the Lourve, we strolled through the Tuileries Garden, stopping for a short rest on the chairs in the park.  Next stop, lunch at the Paris/London Cafe where Ana, Elinor and Sarah tried escargot for the first time.  They all liked.  Ana and Katie had French Onion soup.  After lunch, we stopped at Laduree (the most famous macaroon place in Paris) and bought a good number to take home.  Last, but not the least shopping on the Champs-Elysees.  Katie made a purchase in the Addidas Store; the rest of the gang made their purchases in Sephora (it took them 35 minutes).  Ana and Sarah went into one shoe store, but got sticker shock when they realized that the shoes that they were looking at were 900 Euro.  After shopping, we headed back to the hotel and checked out.  My feet and back may never be the same, but we all had a great time.

July 10, 2013 -- We Arrive in Paris

July 10, 2013 -- We Arrive in Paris

We left our house at 6:30 am and arrived in Paris around 10:00 am.  The trip from the airport to the hotel was over an hour.  We got to experience lovely Paris traffic.  We left our bags at the hotel and headed to the Metro.  I gave the woman at the information desk the address and she told us the Metro lines that we needed to take to the crepe restaurant.  We got off at the Montparnasse and found our way easily to La Creperie Josselin for lunch (S and I were very impressed with our navigation skils).  The girls had sweet crepes and miracle of miracles, Elinor finished her lunch first.

Next we headed on foot to the Luxembourg Gardens and then next to Notre Dame.  After Notre Dame, we walked along the Seine and then got a metro to the Eiffel Tower.  Finally, our exhausted group took the metro to the hotel and checked in.  After an hour reprieve, we got a cab to Ze Kitchen Galerie.  We had a great dinner and then headed to the Eiffel Tower for an evening view.  S, Elinor and Ana took the elevator up to the second level of the Eiffel Tower while Katie and I watched from below (Katie was too chicken -- a bit afraid of heights).  We finally made it back to our hotel a little after midnight.
