January 31st and February 1st -- K and S's last home games -- Paris and Cairo Visit

FIS took on Paris and Cairo for their last home games of the season and celebrated their seniors.  To respond to their treatment a year ago when ASP fans packed the gym and opened up newspapers when FIS was introduced, the Student Athletic Council created a "Beat Paris" video, painted banners and made every attempt to pack the gym.  All of it worked, as the girls, and then later the boys, played to a full gym.  The girls beat Paris in overtime and the boys beat Paris at the buzzer.  Even though the Cairo game did not produce the same results, the girls left the gym very happy.

On Saturday morning Paris returned and tried to even the score.  FIS dominated most of the game and prevailed once again, as did the boys.  In fact, all of the basketball squads beat Paris in both games -- a sweep!

January 21 -- The Girls Turn 18

January 21, 2013 -- Happy Birthday Katie and Sarah

In honor of the girls 18th birthday, we let them choose the restaurant.  Katie chose The Ivory Club (Indian) and Sarah chose Zenakan (Asian).  In order to honor both requests, we celebrated on Sunday night and, then again on Tuesday night.

I joined another FIS mom and left Frankfurt on Thursday to explore Vienna.  After a night and a morning in downtown Vienna we headed to the American School of Vienna to watch some basketball.

January 14, 2014 -- C and I visit Köln

Christopher and I arrived at around noon and decided to have lunch and try a few Kölsch (beer of the  Köln area).  We stoppeed at a beer house known as Päffgen famous for their Kölsch which they brew in the brewhouse behind the restaurant/pub.

We toured the Cathedral and then went to see some Andy Warhols at the Lugwig Museum.  C and I had a great time!
