April 3, 2013 -- Paris Day 2

April 3 -- Paris Day 2

Today we went to the Louvre and fought many people to get a view of Mona Lisa.  On a personal note I saw a painting by van Eyck that was amazing (I had studied it on my art history class).  After the Louvre, we walked around Paris, in particular the old part of Paris which has some shopping.  We got back in time to change quickly for dinner and then headed out again.  We went to L'Ardoise for dinner.  C was brave and tried a local dish.  As best we can tell, he ordered barnacles --pretty gruesome looking.  He claimed that they tasted o.k.  S and I were skeptical.  The highlight of the evening were the desserts -- a Napoleon with pistachio cream for me and a lemon mousse for C.  Here are some pictures.
