April 5, 2013 -- Day 4 Paris

Paris Day 4

We slept in today and then headed out to find a crêperie -- easy if you know where to look.  We took the Metro to the St. Germaine Area and low and behold there were a ton of quaint crêperies.  We went to La Crêperie de Josselin.  S and C split a vegetarian crêpe and an apple and nut crepe.  I stayed with the savory crêpe -- vegetarian.  We then walked to the Musée d'Orsay.  The museum is in the old train station from when Paris hosted the World's Fair.  It is the place to go to see impressionist art.  Every time you looked, you saw a masterpiece -- tons of Monets, Renoirs, Gaugan, you name it.  We also saw the famous circus painting by Seurat.  It was truly amazing.

After the museum, C went back to work at the hotel and S and I went back to a shop to look at a dress. S and I both agreed that it was beautiful, but 1600 Euros was a little out of our league.  We then stopped at Angelina's for hot chocolate (Christopher's recommendation) and then headed back to the hotel.  After a brief rest, S and I went out for one last shopping trip on the Champs-Élysées.  We were successful.  We found a cute dress for S and purchased a Mona Lisa Swatch for Katie.

We made it back to the hotel -- practically running because we were late meeting Chris for dinner.  We all grabbed a cab and headed to Ze Kitchen Galerie.  We arrived and started looking at the menu.  Ten minutes later, a the waiter came over to hand me my wallet.  I had left it in the cab and the cab driver returned to the restaurant.  Yes, there are some nice people in the world.  After the excitement of wallet faded, we sat down to the best dinner that we had in Paris.  We walked back to the hotel -- again a freezing night -- and got ready to leave the next morning.

We had a great trip and did a ton of walking!  Here are the last set of pictures.
