July 7, 2013 -- Frankfurt -- The Rude Train Officer and a walk in the Forest

July 7, 2013 -- The Rude Train Officer

We all decided to show Eleanor and Ana Frankfurt.  Clearly the Schneiders brought the sun with them as it was about 80 and sunny.  The Frankfurt Ironman TriAthlon was today so we took the train.  After a long lunch at La Maison du Pain, we walked to the historic area and the river.  We never made it to the river because the finish line for the race was in that area.  Chris and I headed home.  The girls walked up to the expensive shopping street in Frankfurt (Gucci, Armani etc.) to window shop (remember all of the shops are closed on Sundays) and then headed to Starbucks.

The girls had a slight problem on the train back.  In Germany you buy train tickets, but they do not collect the tickets; they just randomly check them.  We had bought a group ticket for the girls, but then Chris lost the ticket.  We gave them money and told them to buy another ticket; plus they had the receipt from the other group ticket.  Unfortunately, Sarah bought the wrong group train ticket and, of course, the train officer came by and checked their ticket.   He gave them a very hard time and rudely reprimanded them because they did not speak German.  Somehow all of this will have to be resolved in transportation office next week.  They are still talking about their experience as they head out for a walk in the forest.  Quite an experience for the Woodbury girls.

After the trip to Frankfurt the girls took the girls (Ana and Macintosh) for a walk in the forest near our house.  Notice the Schneider girls did not walk Mac.
