December 26, 2013

December 26, 2013 -- Oslo

After a two hour flight, we made it to Oslo.  We were a bit nervous at the airport because Chris accidentally washed Christopher's passport on Christmas Eve.  We salvaged it, but let's say it was very noticeable.  Thankfully, Norway has an agreement with Germany so we did not have to go through Passport Control.  We landed around 3:00, took a train to the center of Oslo and then took a cab to the hotel.  We quickly checked in and headed to the National Gallery.  We had 20 minutes to go through the Museum as it closed at 5:00 pm.  In that 20 minutes, we saw The Scream by Edvard Munch, other paintings by him, a number of Picassos and Van Gogh's self portrait.  It was well worth the quick visit. For dinner, we stopped at an Indian Restaurant.  It did not take a long time to realize how expensive Norway is.
