December 28, 2014 -- Dog Sledding

December 28, 2013

After returning home at 1:30 am, we set our alarms to be up bright and early for the dog sledding adventure.  We left the hotel and traveled 90 minutes north.  They overbooked the dog sleds so we waited in a Sami Tent and ate a Norwegian treat called Lefse -- bread, butter, brown cheese and sugar.  Eventually our time came and we walked over to view the dog teams and two man sleds.   Chris rode with the guide.  Katie and Sarah shared mushing duties.  Sarah drove first.  I took my life in my hands and let Christopher drive my sled.  Sled driving with a team of five dogs was not that easy. We had a great time.  K and S also got to pet (scare) the reindeer as well since the camp had reindeer sleds in addition to dog sleds.  We returned home at around 4:30 pm.  That night we went out for a delicious fish dinner at Fiskekompaniet.
